Bee swarms with Thymio at MFR2016

The DICE project presented a demonstration of bees decision making at the Maker Faire Rome 2016. In this presentation, a number of Thymio robots disguised as bees were choosing their preferred ‘nest’, represented by four static robots at the corners of the arena. Following the studies on the nest-site selection behaviour of honeybees, an efficient algorithm for collective decision has been implemented and ported to the robots, for the amusement of kids and families visiting the Maker Faire.
