Together with other experiments within the ECHORD++ framework, SAGA presented the latest results during the recent Hannover Messe (April 24-28, 2017 - Hannover, Germany). The Hannover Messe is one of the main fairs for industry and innovation, and offers a unique opportunity to meet investors, market leaders and technology enthusiasts.
At the Hannover Messe, SAGA showcased a live demonstration of weed detection from a drone. The images acquired from the camera have been processed onboard and streamed to a monitor to demonstrate the different steps of the image processing, from the excessive green filtering, Otsu threshold, object detection and classification in weed or crop.
The demonstration attracted much interest, with a continuous flow of people interested in the proposed technology and in the concept of swarm robotics applied to precision farming.
